Bob started his career at the Royal Insurance Group in March 1962. He became the Chief Underwriter of Royal Re, in Charge of the underwriting of the Marine and Non Marine Departments for all classes- Facultative/ Proportional/ and Non Proportional Business. In addition he was in charge of all Outwards Treaty placements for the Royal Group.
He was also instrumental in setting up Royal Re’s Branches in New York and Toronto. In 1989 Bob was headhunted by the Municipal Mutual Group to become Assistant General Manager and Director of Municipal General Insurance Company, in charge of all Inwards Reinsurances all classes worldwide, plus controlling Municipal Mutual Group own Reinsurance Protections.
In 1995 he was part of the small team that sold Municipal Mutual to the Zurich Group and their Life Company Prime Life to Standard Life. Bob then formed his own FCA Broking Company and has continued to work with Lloyd’s Brokers in placing Treaty and Facultative Marine and Non Marine Business Into the Lloyd’s and Company Market.
Bob is also an Expert Witness for the ROA (Reinsurance Offices Association) and possesses the CII titles of FCII and CI. He has now been, and is still active in the Insurance and Reinsurance Market for over 58 years.
